Latest projects / FITTER-EU / Successful Presentation at ERSA 64th Congress!
We’re excited to share highlights from our participation in the ERSA 64th Congress, held in Athens from August 26th to 29th, 2025. Themed “Regional Science in Turbulent Times: In Search of a Resilient, Sustainable and Inclusive Future,” it aligned perfectly with FITTER-EU. Our team presented the paper An Evolutionary Tree Framework for a Fair and Inclusive Twin Transition in Europe, co-authored by AITEC-INTL with partners from TFC Research and Innovation Limited and TU Dublin—Aditya Kapoor, Gemma Molero Prieto, Francisco Santarremigia Rosaleny (corresponding), Mehdi Zarehparast Malekzadeh, Ashwani Kumar Malviya, PhD, Tom Flynn, and Chiara Leva—during the special session “Twin Transition and its Unequal Geography.”
This work uses a seasonal “evolutionary tree” metaphor (Winter → Spring → Summer) to transform research into policy tools for Europe’s green and digital transition.
Key highlights:
– Actionable Framework: Maps research stages to policy outputs, from data collection (Winter) to a gamified platform with Intelligent Predictive Decision-Support (Summer).
– Case Studies: Six countries (DE, HU, IT, IE, ES, PT) across sectors like energy, transport, building & housing, and agri-food for replicable, context-sensitive insights.
– Forecasting Tools: Composite indicators and simulations to identify impacts and equitable mitigations.
– Co-Creation Approach: Stakeholder-led for just, inclusive policymaking.
Additionally, AITEC-INTL represented FITTER-EU at the #ST4TE validation workshop on August 26th, providing feedback on twin-transition indicators—from regional specialization to skill metrics—to ensure actionable tools for equitable opportunities.
We’re proud of FITTER-EU’s focus on justice in Europe’s transformation. If you’re in transition policy or decision-support, let’s connect!
