Last 18th and 19th of December, the kick off meeting of the European Assets4Rail project was held, in which AITEC participates. The objective of the project is to contribute to the objective of the Shift2Rail Innovation Program 3, which focuses on obtaining more profitable and reliable railway infrastructures.
This meeting continues with the different sessions. In the first place, presentations were presented by the participating companies, the objectives were clarified, a global description of the project was given and the results and the expected effects of the project are analyzed.
Subsequently, parallel work sessions were held for each of the two lines of work (WS1: Tunnels and bridges, WS2: roads, vehicles and safety systems). Throughout the sessions was analyzed each of the work packages, and became a work organization for the first tasks to be performed.
The second day of the meeting was a day in which a summary of the conclusions of the previous past was made for each of the lines of work, as well as the next step, synergies with previous projects of Shift2Rail, and talked about communication and dissemination activities, as well as, the way of working in the impact analysis part.
This kick off the meeting serves as a starting signal for the Assets4Rail project, in which it was possible to breathe a lot of desire on the part of the different partners to start with the different tasks in order to obtain a more profitable and safe railway system through the improvement of the maintenance of tunnels and bridges, and of a greater monitoring and analysis of rolling elements and tracks.
