Water on cosmetics

AITEC is developing with the financial support from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Innovation of the Generalitat Valenciana, a project that seeks to minimize the generation of wastewater in the cosmetics sector

As part of this project are also analyzed innovative treatments of water from industrial processes cosmetic industry from two perspectives:

• Whereas as waste water and evaluate innovative treatment methods in addition to traditional treatment chemical physical and biological
• Considering water as a byproduct and analyzing new industrial sub-sectors which use these waters as an energy source in industrial processes

To do this, AITEC, together with other specialized companies such as ECOCAT, AyEE, IMEDES and cosmetic companies, has developed a protocol for minimization of  wastewater available for those who are interested

During the year 2011 we carry out an LCA (life cycle analysis) of cosmetic products respect its packaging most used through a serie of quantitative indicators. In addition, we have completed the proposal of optimized solution for waste water treatment in the cosmetics industry and its application in other industries

Objectives:

The main objective of this project, funded by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Innovation Generalitat Valenciana, is to conduct an investigation to optimize the efficiency and sustainability of industrial processes cosmetics from the environmental point of view, increasing the competitiveness of companies involved in this sector.

The project focuses on optimizing the consumption of water and energy processes associated with the production and cleaning systems involved in the cosmetic companies

Deadline:

The deadline for implementation of this project is biennial for the years 2010 and 2011

• Valencia Public Administration, and in particular the Ministry of Ecconomy, Industry and Trade of the Generalitat Valenciana
•  The cosmetic sector from Valencia
•  Sectors related to cosmetics, where the GMP (Good Manufacturing Parctices) apply, such as food and pharmaceutical sector
• A general throughout the industry you want to implement protocols to minimize wastewater and innovative methods of treatment of this wastewater
