Life cycle of packages on cosmetic sector

AITEC, with funding from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Innovation of the Generalitat Valenciana, and with a consortium of experts in the field as Ecocat, AyEE and other cosmetic companies, is developing an industrial research project will achieve the following objectives:

• Develop a protocol for wastewater minimization based on the application of best available techniques within an international environment in the implementation of GMPs and GDPs in the cleaning process
• Identify new industries which can use the waste water from cosmetic industry as a byproduct of high value added
• Evaluate new innovative treatment methods for waste water, different from the conventional, physical, chemical and biological

During the year 2011 are expected scientific and technical results in this regard is duly publicized in professional journals such as the publications " Residuos", "Farma-españa Industrial" y "Proyectos Químicos", where AITEC is an usual technical partner

Abstract

The packaging industry in a consumer society where virtually all products that are released require packaging, is currently facing obvious: at each stage of the production process (extraction, transport , processing, distribution, use and consumption) as well as consume natural resources, generate a large amount of waste materials (solid, liquid and gaseous).

In this article we will focus on the study of the environmental impacts of the manufacturing process of the materials used for packaging most used by the cosmetics industry: plastic, glass and cardboard.
